Mývatn is a lake near Akureyri in northern Iceland. The lake was formed during a massive eruption 2300 years ago. Today the area is best known for the large number of birds visiting in the summer and the strange and inspiring volcanic features surrounding the lake.
Visiting Mývatn is like entering another world.
