Capri
Capri is an island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy. The main town Capri that is located on the island shares the name. It has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic.

Some of the main features of the island include the Marina Piccola (the little harbor), the Belvedere of Tragara (a high panoramic promenade lined with villas), the limestone crags called sea stacks that project the sea (the Faraglioni) , the town of Anacapri, the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), and the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas.

Capri is part of the Campania region, Province of Naples. The town of Capri is the island's main population center. The island has two harbors, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande (the main port of the island). The separate comune of Anacapri is located high on the hills to the west.
Tourism
Capri is a tourist destination for Italians and foreigners. In the 1950s, Capri became a popular destination. Typical of the local cooking is the combination between local fish and vegetables: between linguine (flat spaghetti) with Grouper sauce and the vermicelli with Sea Urchin sauce, you can find noodle soup specialties such as chickpea and Cuttle fish; vegetables and seafood or "cicerchie" (a typical local vegetable similar to the chickpea).

The main courses feature specialties with chicken, rabbit and quail meats.

The dessert? A slice of Caprese style almond black chocolate cake and a small glass of iced limoncello.

Worth of mention: the wines of Capri, which were already appreciated at the times of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. The Capri DOC, produced in the local vineyards, offers a selection of wines: Greco, Falanghina and Biancolella are the famous white ones, whilst Piedirosso is an important red one.
