La Junta
Located in the north of the Aysén region at the junction of two valleys, the Rosselot and Palena Rivers, the city of La Junta presents a wide range of natural and human resources that give rise to constant commercial and tourist growth. Its current development is the result of the inauguration of the central segment of the Southern Highway in 1983.
It is part of the Palena - Queulat Basin, a territory still unexplored, which combines a lot of green forests and very pure waters.
This road connects La Junta with the city of Puerto Montt, 356 kilometers to the north, and Coyhaique, 266 kilometers to the south. It is the most active city in the Palena Basin due to its good fields and for having diversified its activities of cattle raising. Its commercial strategy is to supply all kinds of goods to the rest of the region.
It is known as the city of meetings because of its geographical location but also because it is worth to experience a meeting with its people, its history and all the unexplored areas it has to offer.
