Tourism
Many people rate Cassis as the best resort in St-Tropez; jammed by cliffs, its development has been sidomodesto. The main thing to do is take a boat trip to the Calanques - fjord-like entrances that cut deep into the limestone cliffs. Several companies operate from the harbor, but make sure they allow you to leave or simply stroll and prepare for the rough seas. If you're feeling energetic, follow the well-marked Calanques trail behind the western beach; It is about ninety minutes walk to the farthest and best calanque, En Vau, where you can reach the coast. The water is deep blue and can swim between the cliffs. It is an experience not to be missed.
You can rent kayaks or boats in Cassis, sometimes including a captain, and there are some wetsuits; The tourist office has details. The spectacular cliff-side Des Crêtes route connects Cassis with La Ciotat; regular viewpoints let you stop and take the perfect picture.

Gastronomy
The sea offers a variety of flavors: sardines, tuna, red fish, sea bass, cuttlefish, sea bream, conger, mullet, eel, mullet, sea urchins and squid. The earth provides sun-colored and sliced vegetables when ripe, honey, herbs, olives ...
The harbor is full of many seafood restaurants, which are generally good due to the huge local competition.
Although not a well-known wine region, some of Cassis's fine wines have been found in faraway places like the US. Fresh whites and rosé accompany fish dishes in many restaurants.
